MARGAO: Margao Sporting Club secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 14th Wilred Leisure Soccer Cup 2025 by defeating Benfica Youth Club Vasco 3-1 at the DSYA Ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday.
Margao's Allen Dias opened the scoring in the fourth minute, followed by goals from Sweden Barbosa in the 33rd and Silviano Oliveira in the 84th minute. Benfica Youth Club Vasco managed to pull one back in the 54th minute through Jaison Vaz.
Despite the loss, Sushant Borkar of Benfica Youth Club Vasco was named Man of the Match. Sports promoter Kingslee D'Costa of Curtorim presented the award.
