MARGAO: Margao Sports Club edged out Ugem Rising Club with a 1-0 victory on Monday, advancing to the quarter-finals of the 14th Wilred Leisure Soccer Cup 2025 at DSYA ground, Curtorim.
Edger Noronha scored the decisive goal in the 12th minute. Ugem Rising Club missed a crucial penalty kick, with Macson D'costa failing to convert after Jacce D'costa was fouled by Margao's goalkeeper, Karol Soares.
Edger Noronha was named Man of the Match.
MARGAO: A hat-trick from Seby Vaz propelled Calangute Veterans to a decisive 4-1 win over Siolim Veterans to enter the semifinals of the 10th Fatorda Veterans Football Tournament, held at Don Bosco ground, Fatorda.Vaz's goals came in the 10th, 24th and 50th minutes while Siolim's Marcus Carvalho managed a consolation goal in the 55th minute. Seby Vaz was recognized for his outstanding performance with the Man of the Match award.
