The newly developed Pilerne football ground was inaugurated by Saligao MLA Kedar Naik inaugurated, recently.

Addressing the gathering, Naik said the ground fulfilled a long-pending demand of the villagers. Developed at a cost of around ₹85 lakh, the project also includes ongoing work on a players’ changing room and a panchayat ghar adjacent to the ground. He acknowledged the generous contribution of local farmers who donated land, emphasizing that such community support plays a vital role in village development. Naik added that the ground would help nurture local football talent and provide youth with a dedicated space to practice and improve their skills, potentially enabling them to compete at state and national levels.

The ceremony was also graced with the presence of Sarpanch Saijal Bandodkar, Deputy Sarpanch Amarnath Govekar, panch member Santosh Bandodkar, village committee chairman Karan Govekar, Sayaji Rane, and former ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar.
