Nuvem Veterans secured a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Lavina Veterans Fatorda to advance to the final of the 10th Fatorda Veterans Football Tournament at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
Lavina Veterans initially took the lead through an Eddey Fernandes penalty. Joe Rose Oliver leveled the score for Nuvem Veterans, and the match remained locked at 1-1 after regulation time, forcing a penalty shootout.
Nuvem Veterans displayed superior composure in the shootout, converting their penalties to clinch a hard-fought victory. Jameson Noronha (Abel) of Nuvem Veterans was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Joaquim Fernandes.
Nuvem Veterans will now face Calangute Veterans in the final, scheduled for Saturday, March 22.
