Pedda Boys defeated Jaguar Boys Benaulim 3-1 in a thrilling tiebreaker to emerge champions of the 18th Late Sereno Cardozo Memorial Football Tournament, held at the Illeant Benaulim Ground on Sunday. The tournament featured an exciting 8-a-side interward competition with teams from Benaulim, Varca, Carmona, and Seraulim.
During the match, Varca's Pedda Boys scored one goal each through Gaurang and Aaron, while Jaguar Boys Benaulim responded with goals from Vishal and Alijo. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, leading to a tense tiebreaker, where Pedda Boys proved to be the better shooters, securing the win.
The prizes were presented by David Rebello and Vencilla Fernandes, Panchayat members of V.P. Benaulim, in the presence of Felix Fernandes, other dignitaries, and club officials.
