MARGAO
Opposition leader and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat said Goa has immense potential to create cricketing stars who can excel at the international level. The young cricketers must follow the footsteps of legendary Goan cricketer Dilip Sardesai and work hard with utmost dedication and devotion. Kamat was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Late Radhabai Vasant Kamat Memorial Under-13 Inter-RCC Cricket Tournament organised by Sparkling Stars Association, Aquem in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa, at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on Wednesday.
Goan cricketer and former State Ranji player, Debashish Bagchi while speaking on the occasion appealed to the players to follow the technic of cricket and not fall prey for commercial gains in the commercialised new versions of cricket.
“The 35-over tournament will have almost 9 matches in the first phase. The outstanding team will be given special medals and prizes,” said Gurunath Lad.
