Raia Sporting Club edged past Raitura Sports Club 1-0 in a tightly contested Salcete Zone Third Division League match at the Raia Panchayat Ground on Tuesday. The score remained goalless at half-time as both sides adopted a cautious approach with limited clear-cut chances.
Raia Sporting came out stronger in the second half, mounting sustained pressure on the Raitura defence. Their persistence paid off in the 76th minute when Silvano Oliveira netted the decisive goal to seal victory.
In another one-sided encounter at the Verna Panchayat Ground, Socio Cultural Club registered a commanding 10-2 win over Arlem Youth Association.
Carl Soares starred with an incredible five-goal haul, while Ignatius Silva also found the net in the dominant display.
