Raia Sporting beat CAC Cansaulim 6-0 to move into the quarterfinals of the 44th St Joseph Festival Football Tournament organised by Dramapur SC, at Dramapur ground, on Monday.
Raia Sporting netted a hat-trick through Garrison Fernandes, who scored in the 8th, 12th and 38th minutes while Sweden Barbosa slammed a brace (43rd and 50th minutes). Alren Dias netted a goal in the 55th minute.
Akar Warriors win Mardol 6-a-side tourney
Akar Warriors beat Mahalasa Simepayin 1-0 in the Inter-ward PVK Panchayat 6-a-side Tiger Post football tournament organised by Shivmangalsai at Mangueshi ground, Mardol on Sunday.
Shubam Gaude scored the winner for Akar Warriors in the second half. Individual prizes: Best Defender - Kunal (Mahalasa Simepayin), Best Goalkeeper - Hemant Borkar (Akar Warriors), Player of Tournament - Soham Gaude (Akar Warriors). Chief guest Shyam Gaude gave away the prizes along with other dignitaries.
Netball, Fast5 Netball C'ship from Sept 5
PANAJI: 1st Goa State Championship (Netball & Fast5 Netball) will be organised by Goa Netball Association on September 5, 6 & 7 from 9 am to 9 pm at Ponda Sports Complex Indoor Stadium, Curti Ponda.
The inauguration ceremony will be held on September 5 at 5 pm. Teams participating will play league matches on September 5 & 6. The semifinals and finals will be played on September 7, followed by a closing ceremony and prize distribution function at 6 pm. Medals, certificates and trophies will be awarded to the winning teams along with individual prizes.
