Royal Supernovas defeated Goan Gladiators by 66 runs in the finals of the Yokohama Friendship Shield 2024 powered by Rodricks Tyres and Car Spa, at SK ground, Malkarnem.
Goan Gladiators won the toss and elected to field. Royal Supernovas lost half the side for 105 in 13 overs. The sixth wicket partnership of 94 runs off 38 balls between Arsh Sardesai and Siddhu Palghar helped Royal Supernovas to post a score of 218/6 (20). Top scorer of the innings was Arsh Sardesai 92 not out off 38 balls. For Goan Gladiators, Siddharth Ghanekar took two wickets.
Chasing 219, Goan Gladiators were all out for 152. Siddharth Ghanekar scored 32 runs, Dr. Sunny 28 and Kapil Borkar 22. For Royal Supernovas, Granthik Buyao took four wickets and Siddhu Palghar took two wickets.
Yokohama player of the tournament Arsh Sardesai was awarded with English Willow cricket bat. He also got the medal for being man of the finals. Viraj Puranik was best batsman of the tournament. Amlon D’Souza was best bowler of the tournament and Siddhu Palghar was best fielder of the tournament. Ashish Patnekar was the best wicketkeeper. Aaaradya Goyal was handed the emerging player of the tournament.
The Friendship Shield was presented to Royal Supernovas by Ronark Rodrigues in the presence of Dr Satyesh Kamat, Jyotendra Naik and Balkrishna Hodarkar.
