Debutants S.S. Caterers, displaying exceptional form and teamwork, emerged champions of the 5th edition of the Masters Table Tennis Champions League (MTTCL), defeating Saxtti Sports and Cultural Club 2-0 in an exciting final played at the Rustic Rose Hall, Peddem.
The high-voltage finale saw top veterans of Goa battle for glory, marking a fitting end to yet another successful edition of the state’s most glamorous and professionally organized table tennis league, organised by Peddem Sports Club and supported by the Goa Table Tennis Association.
In the semifinals, S.S. Caterers overcame Dempo Royals 2-1 in a hard-fought contest, while Saxtti Sports and Cultural Club registered a commanding 2-0 victory over U.K. Ultra to seal their spot in the final. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Dempo Royals defeated Royal Ruby, S.S. Caterers ousted Tuff Security, Saxtti Sports and Cultural Club got the better of M&S Titans, and U.K. Ultra overcame Suzuki B.N. Thakur in a thrilling encounter.
The champion squad S.S. Caterers comprised Shawn Soares (Captain), Ratnadeep Shivani, Leslie Noronha, Vinay Raikar, Brennan Tavares, and Michael Viegas, while the runners-up Saxtti Sports and Cultural Club featured Deepak Gopani (Captain), Robert Rosario, Pradeep Bhende, Roshan Naik, Amey Lawande, and Hanisha Gopani. The winners received a prize purse of ₹50,000, while the runners-up took home ₹30,000, and both semifinalists received ₹10,000 each, along with trophies and special awards.
