MARGAO: Salcete Young Stallions stormed into the finals defeating Delite Titans by 7 wickets and 3.2 overs to spare in the Desserts n More U-25 Boys Sarsangan Cricket Series, at Arlem Cricket ground.
Put in to bat first, Delite Titans could manage only 136/9 in 20 overs, failing to capitalise on the starts provided by Dhruv Bhende (20), Sanat Prabhudesai (36), Granthik Buyao (32), Ashay Ambe (16) and Pranav Nagarsekar (13).
For the Stallions, the successful bowlers were Paarth Kossambe (2-13), Pratham Prabhugaonkar (2-15), Aditya Dalal (2-26), Neel Netravalkar (2-32) and Prabhakar Shetye (1-21).
In reply, Salcete Young Stallions were rocked by Granthik Buyao and Ashay Ambe dismissing both the openers with the score reading 20-2. However, a 112 run stand in only 82 balls for the 3rd wicket between Saish Hegde (45*) and southpaw Pratham Kossambe (50*) took the Stallions home as they made 139/3 in 16.4 overs, to register their 3rd consecutive win, confirming their place in the finals.
For Delite Titans, Granthik Buyao 1-19 and Ashay Ambe 1-24 were the successful amongst the 10 bowlers used which included two young ladies Vidhi Sachin Bhandare and Kamakshi Anish Dharwadkar, making their Sarsangan debuts.
Saish Hegde and Pratham Kossambe were jointly awarded the Desserts n More Man of the Match award at the hands of Santosh Kamat and Leena Dharwadkar in the presence of Gomakant Mahambrey.
