Sports Minister Govind Gaude on Monday visited the Ponda multi-purpose indoor stadium and took stock of the preparations for the 37th National Games 2023, scheduled to be held in Goa from October 26.
“His visit is aimed to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted progression of the complex's readiness to host this prestigious event. This highlights the significance of the Ponda Multi-purpose Indoor Stadium in Goa's holistic approach to ensuring the success of the games,” an official said.
During his visit, the Sports Minister inspected every aspect of the facility. The stadium is set to host three prominent events “ modern pentathlon, taekwondo, and kho kho. “The state-of-the-art infrastructure and well-maintained facilities in Ponda are a testament to our commitment towards fostering sports and athletic talent in the region,” Gaude said. “The stadium is ready to shine on the national stage. It symbolises our dedication to promote sports excellence and will be pivotal in showcasing the talent and potential of our athletes to the entire nation."
