S.S. Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Cujira, secured a resounding 122-run victory over Goa College of Architecture, Altinho in the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men's Championship 2024-25, at Goa University Cricket Ground.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Goa College of Architecture faced a barrage of runs from Dempo's batsmen. Yash Manjrekar (53 off 31 balls) and Prashant Patil (52 off 38 balls) propelled Dempo to a formidable 192/5 in their 20 overs. Rajaswa Kholkar took 4 wickets for 31 runs for the architecture college.
In reply, Goa College of Architecture struggled against Dempo's disciplined bowling, managing only 70/9 in their allotted overs. Sairaj Khutwalker's 17 was the top score, while Abhinandan Thakur shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 6 runs. Yash Manjrekar was declared the top performer for his explosive half-century.
The second match saw VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, overpower Fr. Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar, with a 106-run victory. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Damodar College amassed a massive 208/1 in their 20 overs.
Badal Naik delivered a spectacular innings, scoring 114 off 61 balls, supported by Om Naik's 57 off 47. Rudra Gaonkar picked up the lone wicket for Fr. Agnel. Fr. Agnel's chase faltered, as they were bowled out for 102 in 18.2 overs. Karan Talwar's 27 was the highest score, while Samprabh Phaldesai took 2 wickets for 14 runs. Badal Naik was rightfully awarded the top performer for his century.
