St Anne’s HS, Loyola HS, St Jude HS claim wins

The United Sports Club of Seraulim, under the leadership of Sohan Da Costa, continued its commendable effort in promoting grassroots football by successfully hosting the 5th edition of the Interschool Football Tournament in memory of the late Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa, at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.

In the U-14 girls category, St. Anne’s Institute, Agonda edged out Manovikas HS, Margao 2-1. Guryneth Fernandes and Anishka Gaonkar were the scorers for St. Anne’s, while Jeselyn Fernandes netted the lone goal for Manovikas. St. Jude HS, Betalbatim secured a 1-0 win over Fr. Agnelo Multipurpose H.S, Verna, with Alisha Indwar scoring the decisive goal.

In the U-14 Boys category, Loyola HS, Margao beat St. Anthony H.S, Majorda 3-1. A brace from Joseph D’Costa and a goal by Saeesh Kotankar sealed the win. Prem Yadav pulled one back for St. Anthony’s. Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna triumphed over Fr. Agnelo Multipurpose H.S, Verna 3-2 via tiebreaker after a 1-1 draw. Vollan Coutinho and Vijay Kumar scored in regular time for their respective teams. Manovikas HS, Margao delivered a commanding 3-0 win over Our Lady of Rosary, Fatorda. Goals came from Ruel Barretto, Eric Telles, and Meaden Pereira. St. Jude HS, Betalbatim continued their good form with a 2-0 win over Holy Spirit H.S, Margao, thanks to a brace by Shiva Indwer. Marina English HS, Verna defeated Mae Dos Pobres, Nuvem 2-0, with Dylan D'Souza and Parth Dessai on the scoresheet.

In the U-12 Boys category, Loyola HS, Margao edged Our Lady of Rosary, Fatorda 2-1. Goals from Nathan Afonso and Karth D'Silva secured the win, while Jaswalt Fernandes scored for Rosary. Manovikas HS, Margao battled hard to claim a 1-0 win against St. Anne’s Institute, Agonda, with Alister Pereira netting the winner. Mae Dos Pobres, Nuvem blanked St. Anthony, Majorda 2-0, thanks to goals from Jerell Pereira and Jonathon Fernandes. In the second round, Loyola HS, Margao edged past Fr. Agnel Multipurpose, Verna with a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of Jesuslee Fernandes.
