The week-long Inter Seraulim table tennis and carrom tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim concluded on Sunday with the finals played at the club premises.
In the men's carrom tournament, Tadeo Fernandes beat Jess Cardozo 23-27 to claim the title for the second time in a row. In the men's table tennis final, Sunil Shanke defeated Kennedy Noronha 21-14, 21-18 while in the men's doubles TT event, Savio partnering his son Eagan Vales beat brothers Sunil and Sandeep Shanke 14 -21, 21-17, 21-16.
In the ladies' TT singles, Yigael claimed the title for the second year, defeating Zora D'Souza 11-9, 8-11, 11-8. In the carrom junior category, Alton Fernandes got the better of Jordan Alvares by winning two direct sets. In the carrom ladies category, Deodita Rodrigues beat Reshma Cruz in two straight sets. In the TT junior boys category, cousins Srohan and Saksham won 11-8, 9-11, 11-6.
The finals were witnessed by Wesley Do Rosario, international table tennis player, who was the chief guest and later played an exhibition match against Aarav Iyer, his practice partner. Parish priest Fr Jose Gomes was the Guest of honour along with special Invitees Henry Paul and family, and Decan Volvin. They later gave away the prizes.
