MARGAO: United Boys Ambaulim edged past Guardian Angel SC 1-0 to move into the semifinals of Curtorim Panchayat Cup 2025, organized by Maina Sports Club, at St Alex Church ground Curtorim, on Wednesday.
In an exciting match both the teams played an attacking football right from the start of match. Ambaulim took the lead through Soweil Fernandes in 8 min to make it 1-0. Guardian Angel Frazer Gomes missed a chance to equalise when his shot hit the post and went out of play. Ambaulim Alex Fernandes and Teron fernades shot was well saved by Guardian Angel goalkeeper Jackson Vaz.
In second half, Guardian Angel tried best to equalise but Ambaulim defended well till the final whistle.
UB Ambaulim will meet USC Seraulim in semifinals on 3 November. Jackson Vaz ( Guardian Angel SC) was awarded man of the match by Edwin Sequeira( Member Maina SC).
