Wembley Boys Fatorda registered a comfortable 3“1 victory over Royal Amigos Agonda to advance to the quarterfinals of the 19th Rebello Pandal All-Goa Football Tournament at St Rita Church ground, Maina, on Tuesday.
Wembley Boys took an early lead in the fourth minute when Sam slotted the ball into an open net, beating the defence and goalkeeper. Royal Amigos had a chance to equalise before the break, but Velito failed to convert, leaving Wembley ahead at halftime.
After the restart, Royal Amigos stepped up their attack and found the equaliser through Richard in the 39th minute. However, Wembley Boys responded swiftly, with Sam netting his second goal in the 44th minute with a powerful strike from inside the box. As the match progressed, Shelton sealed the win with a fine header to make it 3“1.
Despite conceding three goals, Royal Amigos goalkeeper Earl Fernandes was adjudged Man of the Match. The award was presented by football enthusiast Pascoal Soares.
