The Inter-Collegiate Women’s Football Tournament kicked off with high-energy performances and dominant victories at two venues – Goa University Ground and Rosary College Ground – as college teams battled for early momentum in the competition.

At Goa University Ground, VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao secured a hard-fought 1–0 win over Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao.

The decisive goal came in the 52nd minute, scored by Riya Gomes, who capitalized on a moment of opportunity to give her team the victory.

In the second match, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa displayed tactical superiority to defeat Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Porvorim, by 2–0.

Vidhita Gadekar opened the scoring in the 6th minute, while Geuel D’Souza added the second in the 53rd minute, ensuring a comfortable win for St. Xavier’s.

At Rosary College Ground, Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce for Women, Nuvem, delivered a commanding performance, thrashing P.G. Goa University 5–0.

All five goals were scored by Vanisha Vaz, in the 6th, 40th, 48th, 56th, and 60th minutes, making her the undisputed star of the match.

Don Bosco College, Panjim, registered a dominant 4–0 victory over P.E.S’s Rajaram & Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Farmagudi.

Goals were scored by Pearl Almeida (7’), Vaishnavi Sharma (11’), Whitney Fernandes (14’), and Blessica Rodrigues (40’) in a match that showcased excellent teamwork and clinical finishing.

The Goa University Inter College Men’s Football Championship 2025–26 began today across two venues – Goa University Ground, Taleigao and Rosary Church Ground, Navelim – with an exciting opening match and an early walkover decision.

In the men's category, the championship’s inaugural match witnessed a strong performance by Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering & Information Technology, Shiroda, who defeated VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Management, Manora - Raia with a 2–0 scoreline.

The match saw Sarthak Tari open the scoring in the 29th minute, followed by a second goal from Krupal Maulangkar in the 62nd minute, sealing a confident victory for Shree Rayeshwar Institute.

Goa College of Agriculture, Ella, Old Goa was awarded a walkover after Goa College of Hospitality failed to report for the fixture. As a result, Goa College of Agriculture advanced to the next stage without kicking a ball.
