Dempo Sports Club continued their impressive run with a commanding 4–0 victory over Sporting Clube de Goa in the Reliance Foundation Development League 2025–26 at the Duler Ground, Mapusa, on Thursday.
Coming into the match on the back of a 1–0 win against Sesa Football Academy, Dempo carried their momentum seamlessly into this encounter. Sporting Clube de Goa, meanwhile, were looking to bounce back after suffering defeat in their opening fixture.
Dempo made their intentions clear from the outset and took the lead as early as the 10th minute when Murphy Fernandes found the net with a sharp finish. The pressure from Dempo continued relentlessly, and Swavel Furtado doubled the advantage in the 35th minute with a composed effort past the goalkeeper.
Sporting Clube de Goa attempted to settle into the game, but Dempo’s defence remained resolute and difficult to break down. Just before the halftime whistle, Swavel Furtado struck again in first-half stoppage time (45+1), giving Dempo a commanding 3–0 lead at the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Dempo resuming with the same attacking intent and controlling proceedings. Their dominance was finally rewarded again in the 89th minute when Ashlon Vaz finished neatly to make it 4–0. Sporting Clube de Goa struggled throughout to contain Dempo’s sustained pressure.
With this convincing win, Dempo Sports Club will look to build further on their excellent form and growing confidence.
In another match played at the Guirim Football Ground, Sesa Football Academy edged past Clube de Salgaocar 1–0. The all-important goal was scored by Cain Fernandes in the very first minute of the match.
