Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim booked their spot in the semifinals of the Under-14 Boys Fr. Peter SVD Memorial Football Tournament with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Cortalim, in a thrilling quarterfinal clash held at the vibrant SVD Seminary Ground, Raia, on Monday.
Navelim took the lead early in the 8th minute when Franoy Rocha scored with a composed placement shot. Cortalim responded in the 24th minute through Raunak Singh, who leveled the scores with a well-taken goal.
However, Franoy Rocha once again rose to the occasion, netting his second goal of the match in the 30th minute to secure victory for the Navelim side.
For his outstanding performance and match-winning brace, Franoy Rocha was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by Fr. Innocent Fernandes, Rector of SVD Seminary, Raia.
