MARGAO: Rossman Cruz Nagoa, playing with just seven men, went down fighting 1–0 against Fr. Agnelo S&CC Paroda in the All Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Late Rev Fr Joe Gomes at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
The decisive goal came early, with Livan Clemente finding the net in the 4th minute. Despite being outnumbered, Rossman Cruz Nagao put up a resilient display, with goalkeeper Conecio Carvalho making crucial saves and the team defending admirably while creating occasional scoring opportunities.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Conecio Carvalho by Franky Goes, ex-footballer and team mentor.
On Monday, Mandopa Sporting Club stormed into the quarterfinals with a commanding 6–0 victory over United Boys of Ambaulim, who were reduced to just eight players.
Travis Souza led the rout with a brilliant hat-trick, while Aden Pereira, Dustan Fernandes and Premax Mascarenhas chipped in with a goal each to seal the emphatic win.
