Perpetual High School Navelim emerged victorious in U-14 women's football tournament, organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, at Davorlim club ground Laymati after defeating Fatima Convent High School, Margao 4-3 via the tie-breaker in the finals.
Kelia open the score-line for Perpetual High School in 10th minute while Shailaika Rodrigues equalised for Fatima Convent in the 20th minute with a neat placement.
In resultant tie-breaker, Perpetual High School Navelim proved to be better shooters
Kelia was the star performer who saved two penalty kick for Perpetual HS.
Anthony Colaco (MPT) a social worker was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Peter Gonsalves, Fr Domingos Noronha, Atul Verlekar, Laximidas Mangueskar and other dignitaries.
Following prizes were awarded: Best goalkeeper: Saniya (Fatima School), Best defender: Cristina (Rosary School), Best forward and player of tournament: Kelia (Perpetual School), Best half: Anchal (St Jude School Betalbatim), final goal: Melba (Perpetual School), Highest score of tournament: Shailaika Rodrigues (Fatima School), Promising player: Vancia (Perpetual School).
