Rossman Cruz advanced to the quarterfinals of the 42nd Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup after a thrilling 7–6 penalty shootout win over Dicarpali SC, following a 2–2 draw in regulation at the Padribhat ground on Saturday.
Dicarpali took an early lead with goals from Nevil Mascarenhas (10’) and Donald Rocha (17’), but Rossman Cruz fought back strongly with quick strikes from Hilton Fernandes (26’) and Maflon Vaz (27’).
In the tense shootout, Rossman’s Savio Fernandes, Royoon Rego, Johan Mascarenhas, Hilton Fernandes, and Noel D’Silva held their nerve to secure victory, while Dicarpali converted through Donald Rocha, Nevil Mascarenhas, and Somia Noronha.
