Sathvik Kerkar (7/7) won Curti Rapid Chess tournament organised by Ajinkya Chess Academy in Association with Ponda Taluka Chess Association and Lions Club of Ponda City held at Krishna temple hall, Curti.
The prizes were distributed in presence of Lion Mahesh Gaitonde, District chairperson, Lion Sunil Kesarkar, Distict chairperson, Milind Gaude,Assist Arbiter and Anand Kurtikar, Chief Arbiter and Executive committee member of PTCA.
Saish Natekar (6/7) secured second place while Aryan Jojo (5.5) and Arya Kamat Helekar (5.5) secured third and fourth places respectively via tie-breaker.
Pratik Gaude (5) and Divesh Priolkar (5) settled for fifth and sixth places respectively. From seventh to 12th place all scoring (4.5) were Mayank Gaude, Pratish Gaude, Vivaan Verekar, Nagesh Naik, Chinmay Gaude and Nishesh Gaude.
Best U-9: Tansh Pramod Gaude; Best U-11: Lushkalp Gaude; Best U-13: Anvay Borkar
Promising player prizes were given to Tansh V Gaude and Anushka Naik.
A total of 41 players participated in the tournament.
