Panaji: Power Minister, Sudin Dhavalikar, announced on Tuesday that the infrastructure work for the Goa-Tamnar Power project will be completed in the state by August this year.
Dhavalikar mentioned that 90% of the work on the Goa-Tamnar power project is already finished. The remaining work is expected to be completed by August.
He also highlighted the growing power needs of the coastal state, noting that this year, Goa's power requirement was 820 MW. He projected that this demand would increase by about 100 MW each year, meaning that within the next 3-4 years, Goa will need an additional 300-400 MW of power.
To meet these increasing demands, Dhavalikar stated that Goa is preparing infrastructure capable of supporting 1,200 MW under the Goa-Tamnar Power project.
The minister assured that the infrastructure for the Goa-Tamnar project will be ready on Goa's side, and once it is commissioned, it will benefit the people of Goa.
