Sporting Club of Davorlim secured a place in the next round of the 1st All Goa Inter Village Mansion House Cup 2025 after a tense 4–1 penalty shootout win over Parish Youth Nuvem, following a goalless draw in regulation time at the Cuncolim Ground.
The match began with early pressure from Nuvem’s Albino Pereira, who made two dangerous attempts in the 7th and 8th minutes, but was first denied by Davorlim’s goalkeeper and then missed narrowly.
Davorlim gradually settled into the game, coming close in the 22nd minute through a well-taken corner that was cleared by the Nuvem defense. In the 25th minute, midfielder Senford Colaco tried his luck from long range, but the effort posed no threat to the Nuvem goal.
Both teams entered the break goalless, and the second half followed a similar pattern, with both sides creating chances but lacking the finishing touch. Pereira continued to be Nuvem’s key threat, making back-to-back runs in the 35th and 36th minutes, only to be stopped by Davorlim’s keeper and defenders.
Davorlim had opportunities of their own—Nevil Mascarenhas made a strong run into the box in the 40th minute but failed to shoot, and Clifton Rebello missed a close-range header in the 44th. Late efforts from Joyton Rodrigues and Joywin Costa for Nuvem also fell short.
With the deadlock unbroken, the match proceeded to penalties, where Davorlim held their nerve. Naklon Miranda, Aeren Figueiredo, William Nissao, and Melehior Miranda all converted their spot-kicks. For Nuvem, only Joywin Costa found the back of the net, with Davorlim sealing a 4–1 win in the shootout.
Amey Goyekar was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Fredy Mascarenhas, former international footballer.
