Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem, emerged as champions of the 34th Super Soccer Football Tournament, defeating Fr. Angel Youth Sports Club, Paroda 2–0 in a rain-soaked final held at St. John the Baptist Dando Ground, Benaulim.
The final saw Regan Costa put Guardian Angel ahead as early as the 7th minute, earning him the First Scorer of the Final award. Despite heavy downpours slowing down the game, Guardian Angel maintained control, with Paroda enjoying occasional spells of possession.
Fr. Angel YC came close to equalizing from the penalty spot, but Guardian Angel goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues pulled off a stunning save, earning him the title of Best Goalkeeper of the Final.
In the second half, Regan Costa sealed the game with his second goal, capping off a brilliant individual performance that earned him multiple accolades, including Man of the Final, Best Forward of the Final, and Best Goal of the Tournament.
The thrilling finale concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony. Chief Guest and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai presented the trophies and cash prizes alongside several dignitaries including Dr. Caetano Fernandes (President, GFA), Warren Alemao (Social Worker), Anthony Pango (Senior Vice President, GFA), Andrew Ferrao (GFA Executive Member), Xavier Pereira (Sarpanch of Benaulim), Sanford, local panchayat members, and other officials.
Guardian Angel SC, Curchorem were awarded Rs 50,000 plus trophy while Fr. Angel Youth Sports Club, Paroda had to be content with Rs 40,000.
