St Anthony’s High School Monte De Guirim in association with Monte De Guirim Past Pupil Association organized an Inter-School U-15 (8-A-Side) Invitational Football Tournament on 23rd August 2025.
The participating schools were St. Anthony’s HS Monte De Guirim, Sacred Heart HS Anjuna, Holy Cross HS Siolim, St. Joseph HS Calangute, Holy Cross HS Bastora, St. Ann's HS Thivim
In the first semi-final, St. Anthony’s HS Monte De Guirim beat Holy Cross HS Bastora (3-1) while St. Joseph HS Calangute thrashed Holy Cross HS Siolim (6-0) in the second semifinal.
In the finals, St Joseph HS Calangute pipped St. Anthony’s HS Monte De Guirim (1-0) with Naitik Simepurushkar scoring the match-winner.
The chief guest was Bruno Coutinho (Arjuna Awardee 2001 and ex India Football captain) who gave away the prizes in the presence of Guest of honor Tushar Lotlikar and special invitees Fr. Gabriel Fernandes, Peter Martin(Goa Team), Anita D'Souza, Prathamesh Tulaskar
The spotlight event of the day was the exhibition match held between Monte Legends and Stars of Monte. The Monte Legends team featured renowned names such as Salvador (Salu) Fernandes (Super Coach), Bruno Coutinho (Arjuna Awardee 2001 and Ex-India Football Captain), Bibiano Fernandes (India U-20 Coach), Alex Alvares (Ex-India Footballer), Caetano Pinho (Former Assistant Coach of Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata), Jacinto D'Silva (Ex-India Footballer), Regi Rodrigues (Ex-Bombay Customs), Dominic Pereira (Ex-Vasco, Ex-Sesa Club), Anthony De Souza (Goa Customs), Stanley Colaco (Goa Customs) and Mahesh Gawali (India Team Assistant Coach).
The players were overjoyed and expressed immense pride in returning to their alma mater. They shared that it was a deeply emotional and honorable moment to be back and play football in the very school grounds where they had studied and spent 10 formative years. The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia, passion, and celebration of the school's rich football legacy.
