The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hubballi Branch, under the IMA Karnataka State Branch (IMA KSB), successfully concluded the Swarnaa Cup – IMA Doctors League 2025, a three-day state-level cricket tournament for doctors, from December 12–14, at various grounds in Hubballi–Dharwad, featuring 42 teams and nearly 600 participants.

The tournament saw doctors compete in Men’s Open (32 teams), Legends (above 45 years, 4 teams), and Women’s (6 teams) categories. Matches were conducted in a league-cum-knockout format across 10 premier grounds, drawing enthusiastic crowds and generating spirited competition.

In the Men’s Open, Mandya Lions defeated Bengaluru Bulls by 6 wickets, chasing 69 runs to score 71/4 in 8.5 overs at the BVB Engineering College ground. In the Legends Category, Hassan Legends beat Mysore Legends by 16 runs, posting 80/7 in 10 overs, while restricting Mysore Legends to 64/2 at the SDM Dental College ground. The Women’s Category saw Mysuru Queens secured the title with an 8-wicket victory over Kudla Krusaders at KMCRI Ground, completing the chase in 3.1 overs.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister, and guests of honour Shankranna Munavalli and Dr. Ch. V.S.V. Prasad, chief sponsor. Joshi praised the doctors’ competitive spirit and sporting talent. Dr. Prasad lauded participants’ fitness, discipline, and commitment to promoting health and sportsmanship, calling the tournament a platform for camaraderie and professional networking.

The event was organised by the IMA Hubballi Sports Committee led by Dr. Basavaraj Sajjan, Dr. Mahesh Kurugodi, Dr. V.S. Donimath, Dr. Sachin Revankar, Dr. Shyam Bhairi, and Dr. Sunilkumar Biradar. Appreciation was extended to sponsors, officials, and volunteers for smooth conduct of the tournament.
