The Sarsangan Commonwealth Developers +45 Veterans Cricket Series 2025 delivered another exciting day at the Arlem Cricket Ground, with Salcete Stallions extending their unbeaten run, while Pai & Khot Fighters kept their slim knockout hopes alive with a bonus-point win.
Pai & Khot Fighters registered their first victory of the tournament with a dominant performance against Govindraj Legends. Batting first, the Legends scored 164/8 in 20 overs, led by skipper Rajendra Prabhudesai (31), with support from Siddhesh Bodke (20) and Anish Dharwadkar (19). For the Fighters, Shailesh Mahajan (2/10) and Brijesh Naik (2/16) were the standout bowlers.
In reply, the Fighters chased down the target comfortably, reaching 165/2 in 16.2 overs. Sandeep Thali (35), Shiraj Pai Khot (35) and Rasik Pai Khot (34) laid the foundation, before Ramchandra Prabhu (26)* finished the job. Prashant Amonkar (2/16) was the only successful bowler for the Legends. Thali was named Man of the Match.
Salcete Stallions continued their fine form with a hard-fought win over Mapusa Dream Crushers. Batting first, the Stallions posted 192/6, with consistent contributions from Sarvesh Kamat (35), Bhushan Pai Vernekar (35), Paresh Prabhudesai (35) and Nilesh Prabhudesai (31).
Chasing 193, the Dream Crushers fell short at 180/7, despite a fighting 38 from Prasad Bhende. Santosh Kuncolienkar (2/22) led the Stallions’ bowling attack. Bhushan Pai Vernekar was adjudged Man of the Match.
The final round of league matches will be played on Friday, 19 December, at the Arlem Cricket Ground.
