UK United beat CTC White 4-3 in the Men Elite, Group B category in the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Rink Hockey Tournament, being held in Santa Cruz, Mumbai.
In an exciting match, former India international hockey player Yuvraj Walmiki scored two goals for CTC White. Yuvraj was a member of the Indian team that won the 2011 Asian Champions Trophy. In 2014, he also played in the World Cup, in the Netherlands. He is the only Indian player to have played the German Hockey League for eight consecutive years.
His brother Davindar Walmiki also displayed his skills in the same match and was a treat for hockey fans. He represented India at the 2016 Summer Olympics and was the first Indian to play and score in the Euro Hockey League (EHL) in 2018 in Barcelona. Davindar was also a part of the Indian squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In the other matches, Sea View beat Republicans Blue 5-3, in the Women Seniors category while Mumbai Customs beat Republicans 2-1 in the Group A category.
