Water constitutes the main ingredient for our survival. The provision to store water can be made through an underground water tank, overhead or at ground level. As far as the underground water tank is concerned, it has to be in the North-East direction of the plot, house or building.
The direction must be taken from the centre of the plot. Here, care must be taken to see that it is not exactly to the North-East axis as that is the place where the head of the Vastu Purusha lies. So, it should be in the North of North-East or East of North-East. There is a simple way to know this exact direction.
Divide the plot from North-East to North-West into nine equal parts. The North-East part will be number one and the North-West part will be number nine. In this manner, the third and fourth part will be your North of North East. Similarly, East of North-East can be measured by dividing the plot into nine equal parts from North-East to South-East. The North-East part will be number one and the South-East part will be number nine. The third and fourth part will be East of North-East.
The scientific reason behind having the underground water tank in North-East is that the early morning ultra-violet sun rays purify the water, killing all the germs and bacteria.
Underground water tank should never be on the North-East to South-West axis as this area is occupied by the head, spine and feet of the Vastu Purusha. Thus, it can create major Vastu defects. It must always be outside the house on the plot and must not touch the compound wall. It must never be inside the house.
The defect of the South-West underground water tank is loss of income and financial resources, which will eventually create financial problems. In the South-East it will give rise to health issues to the ladies, relationship problems and problems as regards to marriage and also to conceive a child. If it is in the North-West, then there can be disharmony in all sorts of relationships, legal issues as well as a police case.
The best remedy to remove the defect if the underground water tank is in the wrong direction is to first shift it to the right direction that is North-East. The second-best solution is to put a 6mm copper or silver wire in a crescent moon shape under the ground around the water tank. It must not be done after sunset and on Tuesday. For this remedy, it is best advised to consult a Vastu expert.
