CAMPUS | School students showcase innovation at 16th Young Inventors Science Competition

Students presented a variety of innovative projects and working models across different fields of science.

The 16th Young Inventors Science Competition 2026 was held on 28th February in collaboration with the PTA, bringing together students from Std. 5 to Std. 10 to display their creativity and scientific talent under the theme “Ignite Your Mind: Science in Action.”   

Students presented a variety of innovative projects and working models across different fields of science. Some of the notable exhibits included a Smart Parking System, River Cleaning Machine, Smart Floor Cleaning Robot, Automatic Pump System for Flooded Subways, Self-Charging Car, Solar-Powered Car and an Obstacle Detector for the Blind.   

The competition was judged by Sheryl Oliveira Fernandes and Dr Sushant Suresh Naik, scientists from the National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula.   

In the Individual Junior Category, Leanne Lewis secured first place, followed by Shubhan Dhume and Pranay Ghadi. Rajveer Naik won the Individual Senior Category, while Mark Carneiro and Shreyansh Anvekar finished second and third respectively.   

In the Group Junior Category, the first prize went to Aryan Mulgaonkar, Tejas Korgaonkar and Aditya Dublay. Afzal Savnur, Ayaan Shaikh and Rutwik Pilgaonkar secured second place, while Lena Mariya Robin and Nidhi Naik finished third.   

In the Group Senior Category, Aadi Joshi and Devansh Naik won first place, followed by Maitri Bhat and Navya Vagle in second place, and Gayatri Prabhudesai, Anika Dalal and Shriya Dhume in third place.   

Cash prizes instituted in memory of the late founders Thecla Rosario and Vincent Rosario were awarded to the first prize winners in the Individual Junior and Senior categories. The exhibition received appreciation from visitors for the students’ enthusiasm, creativity and scientific curiosity.
