The roads in the city within the limits of the Corporation of the City of Panjim are not meant for use of heavy weight trucks and thus it was a surprise for me to see a truck (GA-07-F-6043) carrying a combine harvester that too on Dayanand Bandodkar marg in the heart of Panaji city, in the presence of traffic police who did not even bother or budge to question this infringement.
It is to be highlighted here that if this particular truck had met with an accident, a very cumbersome rescue effort would have been needed in order to get traffic on this main thoroughfare cleared on time.
In light of such occurrences, I would like to suggest low traffic density time like early mornings or late at nights for the movement of such heavy traffic.
