Indo-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce inaugurated its Goa chapter at Panaji today.
Rosimar da Silva Suzano, who is Consul General of Brasil in Mumbai was present on the occasion. When asked which sectors in Goa can gain from collaboration, Suzano said, “We think agriculture and tourism are very strong in Goa. Brazil has a lot of strengths in these sectors and we think there is a lot of scope of collaboration here”
Suzano also informed that bilateral trade between India and Brazil stands at $11.5 trillion. But she clarified, “This may seem like a big number, but there is a huge untapped potential in terms of trade between India and Brazil. Besides, Brazil is the most important trading partner for India in Latin-America and Caribbean”
The trade equations around the world are changing. Until a few years ago, the US was the largest trading partner for Brazil, but today, that space has been taken by China. From strategic viewpoint, there is a lot of sense in more trade between India and Brazil, as both the countries are huge economies in their respective region.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Row has been appointed as the chairperson of Goa’s chapter. Speaking about her background and experience, Row said, “I’m Goa’s first image consultant. Besides, I have experience in hospitality too”
