LIC celebrates Social Security month in Goa

State-owned insurance giant LIC's Goa division will be celebrating the 'Social Security Month' throughout October to spread awareness regarding life insurance cover to lower socio-economic sections.

The company is also administering the Aam Admi Bima Yojana, comprising with an add-on benefit of Scholarship, free of cost. Aam dmi Bima Yojana provides insurance cover of Rs.30,000/- on natural death. On death/ total permanent disability due to accident, the benefit is Rs.75,000/-. On partial permanent disability due to accident, the benefit is Rs.37,500/-. for a meagre premium of Rs.100/- per member per annum & Rs 100/- is borne by the Government of India.

Persons between age 18 years and 59 years are eligible for entering into the scheme and the member should normally be the head of the family or one earning member in the family of below or marginally above poverty line and fall in any of the specified 48 vocations/occupations can be covered under the scheme.
