Why Brits do well in Hollywood

Since Charlie Chaplin and a certain Stanley Jefferson (later known as Stan Laurel) arrived on the same ship, as part of the same British music-hall troupe in 1910, British performers have been trying their luck in America. Now, it seems, the Brits are everywhere, on big and small screen, even playing America's greatest heroes. And according to Berkshire-born Kate Winslet, they have an accidental advantage. "When you are an English actor and you go into another country they automatically assume you are fully trained. Which I've played on, believe me," she said.
