The Goan karateka to fight in Croatia

Rajveer Caculo is the only Goan among 14 othersfrom India who will participate in the 8th WKF Youth Training Campand Cup in Croatia. After Goan Sybil he is thesecond one from the state to be a part of this international karatechampionship

Rajveer Caculo dreams of becoming a successfulbusinessman like his father. He started going for karate classes in the year2010 when he was just 7 years old. The reason for him to take to karate is thefact that his father was a black belt in karate and this young boy used towatch his dad practice and found karate very thrilling and started liking thesport. “I have also managed to get my black belt this year on January 24 and amvery happy,” stated this 12 year old boy from Goa.

Sansei JosephRodrigues is Rajveer’s teacher and claims that he is always supportive towardshim. This lad started training under him five years backs and he feels that hisparents and teacher are with him and encourage him to take up new challengesfrom time to time. This boy loves practicing karate every single day of hislife because he feels that one should do things that makes them happy. “I thinkkarate helps improve one’s concentration and it gives me happiness too hence Ipractice karate every day,” says Rajveer, the son of businessman Suraj Caculo,title-holder of Caculo Group.

14 karatekas from India including Rajveer will begoing to the 8th WKF Youth Training Camp and Cup. He will beparticipating in the U-14 category (U-45 kgs). From June 29th to July2nd will be the training camp and the championship will be held fromJuly 3 to 4. “I have been practicing for two hours every day at theDojo with my dad to prepare for this championship. I am looking forward togoing to Croatia. I am also looking forward to being a part of the trainingcamp that will be carried out by Hoang Ngan Nguyen, Luca Valdesi, PredragStojadinov and Davide Benetello and are all Karate World Champions before theChampionship,” informed this young karateka.

“Iparticipated in this championship last year and managed to win a bronze medalbut will strive to give a tough fight this year. My only wish is to become aworld karate champion someday,” he concluded with a smile on his face.
