‘Goa’s CM seems to be only talking and using words to endorse illegalities’

As a part of JP’s movement, Dinesh Vaghela found his call in life, as an activist he worked for the RTI Act before joining the Jan Lokpal movement but now as National Convenor of Arvind Kejrival's Aam Admi Party, Vaghela on his trip to Goa talked exclusively to The Goan on the Lokayukta Act which has run into controversies

The Goan: How you see the recent amendments to The GoaLokayukta Act?

Dinesh Vaghela: The Chief Minister continuously said hewould formulate a bill similar to the one of Uttrakand which is a modelLokayukta Act. The Lokayukta was not appointed for 333 days instead of 100days. This bill states the officer of minister may resign instead of shall asstated in the Uttrakand act.

TG: What about the CM's intention to discuss these issues oflowering the fines for frivolous complaints?

DV: Its time he acts and takes strong action against allcorrupt practices. The issue is not lowering the fines or making changes. Theissue is that this CM promised to clean all graft but is now acting and talkingdifferently.

TG: The CM has said that he will raise cases against theformer Congress government?

DV: As per his statements he plans to raise cases againstthe former ministers of the previous Congress government, which is fine withme. Anybody can raise issues of corruption as long as the probe is independentand has no government interference.
