Cong party honours Eduardo, Katkar
PANAJI: The 30th anniversary of Goa Statehood Day was celebrated by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) at Congress Bhavan where president of GPCC, Luizinho Faleiro and Opposition Leader Pratapsingh Rane were present.
Eduardo Faleiro, former Union Minister and Sulochana Katkar, former president of Congress party, were honoured for theri contribution towards achieving Statehood. Katkar was honoured posthumously. Advait Katkar grandson of Katkar received the honour.
Faleiro and Rane eulogised the role of the Congress party in getting Statehood. They said most of the things which Goa got like, Statehood, official language and inclusion of Konkani in the 8th schedule are due to the efforts of the Congress Party.
Eduardo Faleiro said that Goa is now progressing on all sides. But the seeds for this progress were sown by Congress Party.
