A 28-year-old man was arrested on charges of possessing ganja worth around ₹65,000 following a raid between 6.20 pm and 10.30 pm at Platform 1 of Vasco Railway Station on Wednesday evening.
According to police sources, the accused, identified as Satyam, son of Surendra Singh, a native of Ismailpur village, Hajipur, Bihar, and currently residing at the Bedroll Office near Vasco Railway Station, was found with 650 grams of dry greenish leaves, stems, and flowering parts of a plant suspected to be ganja.
The raid was conducted by a Vasco Railway Police team led by PSI Krishna Talpi and under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi of Vasco Railway police station.
Following the seizure, a formal offence was registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, bearing Vasco Railway Police Station Crime No. 03/2025.
Police confirmed that the accused was arrested and taken into custody on the same night.
PSI Krishna Talpi is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
