CTI, a French company dealing with nuclear technology hastied up with Precifab, Kolhapur to manufacture nuclear components in India.
CTI provides technology to nuclear energy, petro-chemicaland defense establishments.
Taking into consideration the favorable condition inKolhapur city, the company has decided to start their unit and joined handswith Precifab.
“The two companies have recently signed an MOU that willallow CTI to share technology with Precifab, Kolhapur informed,” said Martel,CTI’s representative.
Indian Nuclear Energy Conference was held at Goregaonexhibition center in Mumbai where countries like Russia, France, Korea andCanada participated.
As India has signed a nuclear deal contract with thesecountries construction of manufacturing unit has been possible.
“Precifab will now get international standard technology andthe doors are open to Precifab to provide technology in defense industry,”informed Yogesh Kulkarni and Dilip Mohite of Percifab.
Next year Percifab will spend Rs 22 crore to start a hightechnology workshop, Mohite said.
Mohite has said that in next couple of years production willbe increased step by step.
“Kolhapur is the first city to produce nuclear technologyand hardware. So Kolhapur will be internationally known,” said nuclear expertDr Shivram Bhoje.
CTI is the associate of the renowned Areva company which hasa good reputation in nuclear sector.
CTI is in providing the man force and technology developmentin defense, aircrafts, nuclear energy, petro chemicals, medicines and foodbeverages and also in production of boilers and filters for industries.
“CTI had a wish to start a unit in India and had surveyed 20cities all over the country and finally selected Kolhapur,” informed VivekSingh.
Presently nuclear plant construction in Jaitapur hasstarted, and for that huge technology and machinery will be needed. Thedistance from Jaitapur to Kolhapur is less than 100 kilometers.
