A large number of Goans visiting Big Bazaar outlets in Belagavi and in other states for special deals can now look forward to a trip to Porvorim, with Big Bazaar opening its outlet at Mall de Goa on Saturday.
The Big Bazaar outlet was formally inaugurated by Promoters of Mall de Goa, Jai Bhuvan Directors Dr Shekhar Shet, Rajesh Shet and Bhuvanish Shet in the presence of Future Retail Ltd (Big Bazaar) VP (South) Venkatesh Kumar and Future Retail Ltd (Big Bazaar) Business Development Head Nitin Chaudhari.
“This outlet at Mall de Goa is Big Bazaar's 217th outlet in the country and plans are afoot to open a similar store in South Goa,” said Kumar, while speaking to The Goan.
Providing details of their newest outlet, Kumar said the Big Bazaar store at Porvorim is spread over an area of 35,000 square feet on two floors and is managed by around 100 employees.
“There are three categories of products, fashion, home and food, in this store. In the fashion categories, there are more than 25,000 items, while there are around 6,000 items in the home category and around 7,000 items in the food category.”
“Vegetables are procured from Belgaum and Kerala, while fashion and home products are sourced from our vendors spread across the country. Some of the home products are imported from China,” Kumar added.
Commenting on the price tags of their products, Kumar said: “Since our company makes purchases in bulk for all our stores in India, we get the best offers from sellers and vendors. These discounts are then passed on to our customers.”
“Big Bazaar believes in offering best quality products at the best price to customers. Barring the prices of vegetable, the price of fashion and home products are the same in all our stores across India,” Kumar said.
