Goa state Council for Science and technology, Saligao had organized Goa State Children Science congress. The competition was organized for the children of age group 10 to 17 years from the schools and higher secondary schools from Goa. Out of the participating schools, 8 projects were adjudged the best in the state.
The project presented by Esha Pandurang Gavali and Arya Mukund Prabhugaonkar from Satyawati Soiru Angle HSS, Mashem Canacona was one amongst the best projects selected to participate at the National Children Science congress held at Bhubaneshwar Odisha. All the states from India, all the Union territories, 10 Asian countries, 5 gulf countries had participated in the 26th National children Science Congress. Around 800 child scientists and 400 teachers evaluators and coordinators were present at the event. The event was organized by National Council for Science & Technology communication in collaboration with Siksha O Anusandhan (deemed to be University).
Esha and Arya presented an innovative project on Royal Jasmine Flower bud preservation under the able guidance of Chandralekha Damodar Mestri, Biology teacher, at SS Angle HSS. This is the 16th year where the educational institutes under Nirakar Education Society are participating and winning prizes in Science project competition at state and National Level.
