It is at the age of 10, that Tanmay has bagged this role but his acting career began when he was just five,” briefs the proud father Kashinath Kharbe who has been supporting the acting talents of his son ardently.Tanmay’s 25-day shooting of Ratris Khel Chale was during the Diwali and Christmas holidays so Tanmay did not have to miss school much except for few days. “It was in a house at Akeri in Maharashtra and Tanmay was at ease during the shoot. His schedule of shooting was of 12 hours and if the night scenes were to be shot, the shooting began at 11 am and packed at 11 pm,” briefed Kashinath, a forest officer with Goa government.
As the name suggests, the serial is a horror show and Tanmay is playing the childhood character of the lead role Madhav. So with this 25-day shooting, he does not have to go for the recording again. The only time when he has to attend the promos and interviews held from time to time. “Tanmay is attending a promotional event at Kankavali on January 25 where Abhay Khadapkar, a senior actor from Ratris Khel Chale will interview him along with other child artists in the serial,” informed his father who would accompany him. Tanmay’s mother, a schoolteacher in Goa, has played a pivotal role in boosting his acting talent from childhood.
As it has been five years that Tanmay has been into acting, he is used to face camera and does not get camera conscious while shooting is on. And as he used to watch a serial in Malvani language some time ago, it was easier for him to pick up the tone of the language in Ratris Khel Chale.
Tanmay who was always stage friendly, began his inning as an actor through the local fancy dress competitions where he was always among the first three winners. Motivated by his success, little Tanmay began to participate in the state level fancy dress competitions and exhibit his talent there. Apart from performing on the local television channels in Goa, Tanmay has staged two Marathi plays, two Mahanatya (mega play) and one Hindi cinema. He has proved himself as a promising child artist at state level and created an identity of his own. Now he has taken his acting skills on the next level by performing for a national television channel.
“Goa is the birth place of artists will, once again, be proved and it would be inspiring for the other child artists from Goa to follow his footsteps,” hopes Tanmay’s father who leaves it to the audience to judge whether his son could grab the Malvani language in which the serial is and appreciate, if he has stood up to their mark. “Tanmay has made us proud,” admits Kashinath. Putting it humbly, he further states that the success that his son has earned is not only of him of his family, but that of the entire artist community in Goa.
