It is understood that the department of tourism in the state is exploring possibilities of extending beach patrolling between dawn and dusk. It must be said that this will be a very difficult task given the vast stretches of beaches in the state. Though the presence of police on the beach may be a deterrence for the anti-social elements to carry out their nefarious activities after dusk, it may not always be possible for a couple of cops to keep a watch on the entire beach-front.
