With the arrest of peaceful Karapur protesters on Goa Revolution day by the BJP govt headed by CM Pramod Sawant, this ruling establishment has shown its scant disrespect for this important day in Goa’s history. At the height of the recent Anti- Sec 39A protests the Chief Minister publicly stated that Azad Maidan was the place that people could protest and now we can see how deceitful his statement was, with the government stopping people from reaching Azad Maidan. I condemn this dictatorial attitude of the BJP Goa government and wonder how long this suppression of democratic rights by a compromised and highly corrupt BJP Government will continue in Goa.
