Saving I-League
Indian Super League got underway for the second season. It is a football festive extravaganza for the football crazy Goan fans.
I wished that the same atmosphere happens in every game whether it is ISL or I-League. Post the first season of the ISL there were almost no people at stadium to watch Federation Cup and I-League matches. Being a football fan, I undoubtedly follow the Indian football - ISL, I-League and the Federation cup. There was news of a top administrator mentioning the possible merging of the ISL and I-League into one premier league for longer duration. But this news has remained in news box only. ISL has invested on good marketing and as a result it has been followed well. I am sure that I-League total expenditure wouldn’t be even 25 percent of ISL marketing expenditure. I-League is the core of Indian football but has remained neglected by football fan. Even players show lack in potential. It is now high time for the AIFF to roll up their sleeves to save the national football clubs and the I-League. Clubs also must consider the expectation of their fans after they got to watch good football at ISL. The future of India’s professional clubs will remain by virtue of AIFF’s vision over I-League.

Clean stairways
Unswept staircases and landing-places are still a common sight in many buildings. You find them littered with many things including dog poo. You may not notice them when you are using the lift but when you are forced to use the staircase, you have to watch every step. The situation is worse at night when you have to grope your way because the electric bulb meant to light the staircase will either be fused or missing from the holder. Being a common area, everyone feels it is not his concern to keep staircase clean.
The situation is different in buildings occupied by apartment owners. Their housing societies take care, but public and tenanted buildings leave much to be desired. A small contribution from the building owner or the tenants could make a big difference. Nitoll Goem is a dream. It is achievable but as a serious start, we will have to first keep our building/house and its surrounding clean.

Stay the course
Changes in ministries are not necessarily indictment of individual capacity, but new thinking for adjustment, whatever that might be or envisioned in greater context. Alina Saldanha is no heavy political heavy weight to cause political ripples or has dependable support. She will do well to remain in the inner circle and try to deliver to her people the unfinished tasks. The opportunity thrust on her by circumstances must not be frittered away by thin amour of so called political sensitivity of humiliation and pride

Vote with care
The voters falling under municipalities should be very cautious while casting their votes during municipal elections to be held shortly in Goa. They should cast their votes in favor of new faces and with clean images and reputations. The sitting councilors should be rejected for their failures and mistakes.
