Mumbaikars began picking up the pieces of their lives after the devastating floods that sank the city and it's satellite towns in a sea of misery that left at least ten persons dead due to drowning and wall collapse.
In the past too, the people of Mumbai had to face the brunt due to man-made tragedies like terror attacks and natural calamities like floods and every time the Mumbaikars have shown great resilience and courage in the face of adversity.
During the recent floods, locals and religious places in the city came forward to help people seeking shelter from the heavy rains.
Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city with people from every nook and corner having made this ‘city of dreams' their home. Hence the efforts of the Mumbaikars to come to the rescue of those in distress needs to be lauded.
This is a lesson for other cities in the country which are many a times torn apart by violence. This feeling of unity and brotherhood shown by the people of Mumbai needs to be appreciated by one and all.
As the city limps back to normalcy after the deluge, it is the spirit of the people of the city and the ‘never-say-die' attitude that comes to the fore. Mumbaikars take one day at a time and look forward to better days ahead even after having to face both man-made and natural disasters.
Hats off to the people of Mumbai for their resilience and courage in times of adversities.
