The 2017 year end festivities have shone the spotlight on several of our achievements. Here's a low down: Tourists and local goons did not drink in public and scatter broken bottles and cans on beaches and public places. Rental car agencies did not rent out private cars to escape licensing fees. Taxis did not fleece tourists with hiked up rates. Illegal shacks and beach beds never occurred. There was no loud music and noise beyond the stipulated time. There were no corrupt cops who fined tourists and did not issue them a challan. It did not take more than three hours to travel between Anjuna and Calangute. Goa became garbage free. And we have not been ostriches with our heads in the sand. This year will see a further improvement in plastic ban.
